Afternoon Walk

Since I work most afternoons and evenings, the few I have free usually get booked up quickly so I don't get to enjoy the golden afternoon light very often. I took advantage of having a different work schedule this week and brought my camera along for an afternoon walk.

Aquarium

So I got to go to the aquarium today! It's a place I like to go but don't get to very often. I think animals are a lot of fun to shoot because you never know what they'll do, and there's just something about sea animals that I love. Dolphins have always been my favorite, penguins are adorable, and my wonderful sister-in-law has made me realize that turtles have a special place in my heart (I got to see Tuck's brother (or cousin maybe) while I was there). Well, I had fun today and took lots of pictures :) Hopefully I am smarter then blogger and figured out how to make an album link work *fingers crossed* So, enjoy :)

Racing

I got to the speedbowl for the first time this season over the weekend. It was a great night, lots of different cars, and some tight finishes :) Only got a couple shots that I liked, but I still had fun

Fort Shantok

So today I discovered a lovely park that I didn't know existed, but turns out was right on my door step! I got in a nice walk and got to take a few nice pictures at the same time :)

I had fun on the foot bridge :)

TVAG Recap

So this week our competitive season at the gym finally came to an end. It seems like those first meets back in November and December were so long ago. I went looking back through the pictures I took of the kids this year and realized I didn't get to take too many this year since I was almost always on the floor coaching, but I was able to get a few here and there so to recap the season here are a handful of my favorite shots from this year:

Butterflies

Something many people probably don't know about me is that I have a mild dislike for butterflies. Sure they're pretty and harmless and really there's nothing wrong with them, but I had an incident with one (possibly 2, we'll never know for sure) and since then I usually just avoid them. Well the local gardening organization had their annual butterfly pavilion this week, and I figured it would be a good photo op so I went down to check it out. I am proud to say I was right that it was a good place to take some pictures and that I had no issues with the flying critters, even when one landed on my nose, the whole experience was rather enjoyable :) So here some pictures from the event:

Getting Started

So I've decided that as a photographer I don't take nearly enough pictures :p So it is my hope that if I have a place to update and put pictures where they can be shared with other people that would help motivate me to shoot more. So far the more shooting part is working, but bear with me as I try to figure this blog thing out :)
