Hike :)

Just when I think I'm getting caught up on photo stuff I find I'm behind again ... oh well, at least it keeps me busy :) So to start to catch up again, I went for a hike on Friday with mom and of course I had to bring my camera along.  We ventured off the beaten path a few times to head down to a stream and waterfall. It was probably the most fun I've ever had shooting water, and I think I was my mom's entertainment.  As I was leaping from rock to rock to get a different angle or get closer to the falls she told me she could see the wheels turning in my head and was just waiting for me to fall in - thanks mom :) (although with a camera in my hand, there's no way I would let that happen!!)

See the rock there in the middle?
Yup I climbed  all the way up there :)
Just had to get in the middle of everything :)
Ahh . . .  it was such a nice morning, looking forward to more hiking now that the weather is warming up!!
Hope to get a few pics up soon from all the meets over the past couple weekends . . . I've got work to do!!

Cheers!!

Unexpected Find

The weather in CT was supposed to be amazing today so I made plans to go on a short hike.  Thankfully the weather man was right and I had the perfect morning to go out!! I went down to Bailey's Ravine first before heading up to the Ayer's lookout

It was up at Ayer's lookout that I stumbled upon something unexpected . . .
I was taking pictures when I happened to notice this orange sticker sort of hidden under one of the rocks. I thought that was a little odd so I got a little closer to investigate to discover that the sticker was on a green metal box with a label that said 'small arms' on it.  I had seen old ammo boxes like it before but thought it very odd that it was out in the woods . . .
Curiosity got the best of me so I had to open it up and see what was inside . . .
I was very suprised to open it up and have Patrick from Spongebob looking back at me!!
At first glance I thought it was some kids toy box of some sort, but again a rather strange place to find it.  After rummaging around I found a computer print out with coordinates on it for some kind of searching game thing, I had done something similar one time with my family but that time we were looking for these things on purpose, we didn't stumble upon it on accident!  I found a log book inside along with a bunch of toys and cards and random things.  The entries in the log book went back to 2005 and mentioned some of the different items that people added or traded in and out

I dated and signed the little log book and made sure to put everything back the way I found it for the next person
It made for an interesting unexpected adventure this morning :)
Cheers :)

Fun Outside

I had a couple minutes yesterday to mess around outside while it was snowing . . .
And this was the result . . .

It's pretty much all gone already, but I had fun while it lasted  :)
Cheers :)
